Supporting the 1 in 3 impacted by abnormal uterine bleeding
Abnormal Uterine Bleeding (AUB) refers to any deviation from typical menstrual bleeding patterns—whether heavy, prolonged, irregular, infrequent/frequent or unpredictable. AUB is often a symptom associated with conditions such as Uterine Polyps, Adenomyosis, Fibroids (also known as Leiomyoma), in rare cases, Endometrial Cancer, Coagulopathies, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), and menstrual changes associated with hormone use, e.g., contraception. Despite the high prevalence, AUB remains one of the least understood and under-addressed challenges in gynaecological health.
Accurate and, if required, objective measurement of menstrual baseline data—including measuring menstrual fluid volume loss, duration, cycle frequency and regularity—is often helpful for tracking and assessing gynaecological health. However, current methods often lack precision, and may exacerbate gaps in how AUB may be identified, monitored and treated, both for individuals and at scale.
This gap risks frustration, delays in diagnoses, and may limit progress in treatment options. Menstrual health has long been overlooked in biomedical research—it's time for change.
Redefining menstrual health, together.
Emm’s smart menstrual technology empowers individuals, clinicians, and researchers by providing accuracy in measuring menstrual health metrics alongside other symptoms. We’re not just tracking periods—we’re rewriting the standards for how menstruation is studied, understood, and treated.
For researchers and clinicians—the Emm cup is engineered to simplify data and sample collection, enhance participant compliance, and provide rapid access to digital data ready for analysis. See below for examples of how the product can support your research.
